Projects in the works
We always have several great projects in the works! Here is a sampling.
Two Childrens Books. We recently completed two children's books, Lewis and the Lighthouse by Bill McKibben and illustrated by Robert Logan and The Mayor of Apple Tree Crossroads by the late Jeannette Samuels. The Mayor is a sweet tale of loneliness and community in a Maine town. Myron Samuels, widower of Jeannette, brought the story to Just Write Books and we have found it to be a endearing story lovingly illustrated by a friend of Jeannette and Myron--Sue Clukey.
Some books are for limited audiences but have timeless appeal for a family
Just Write Books has completed a memoir written by Vic McNett. After open-heart surgery, McNett is still cycling and enjoying his family and life. He did question why after surgery he gets out-of-breath walking up a major hill. He doesn't think it has anything to do with being 91. He has lived a thrilling life—racing bicycles as a police officer, busting gambling rings and solving murders with the wonders of unfolding forensic science—and we are glad to be able to do him this service.
Just Write Books finds new poet or Ben Hull discovered us
We are announcing a new poet! Ben Hull, from Norway, Maine, produced Boston to Maine: Poems and Tales from an Immigrant to Maine. He has an eye for nature that we think is extraordinary. Wait and see—his verses will blow you away. Even better, all proceeds from the book will be going to the Western Foothills Land Trust—you'll be doing a good thing and getting something great in return!
