About the Book
Tom Seymour encounters scores of animals, and birds in Maine’s outdoors. Some of them are common enough that any Mainer could identify them: loons, moose, black bears, great blue herons. Others are lesser-known, such as sora birds, green frogs, cormorants, and more. Seymour treks year-round through the woods and fields of Maine. Now he’s sharing that knowledge in his new book Wild Critters of Maine.
With Wild Critters of Maine, readers will learn from Seymour about much of the wildlife that populates the state of Maine. With the same lively, accessible storytelling as his previous books, including Wild Plants of Maine, Tom Seymour introduces and describes the characteristics of many of Maine’s treasured animals.

About the Author
Reviews of Wild Critters of Maine: Everyday Encounters
Tom Seymour is "patient, observant and curious"
Seymour is an award-winning columnist and author of numerous books on plants, foraging, fishing and hiking, even a book on nuts and berries of New England. He lives in a cabin near Waldo, and is a keen observer of nature, especially wildlife.
“Wild Critters of Maine” is his latest book, containing fun, fascinating personal observations and commentary about the animals, birds, fish and insects living in Maine today. This, however, is not a scientific field guide loaded with obscure factoids; rather, it is a series of anecdotes, things he has learned over the years by being patient, observant and curious.
