About the Author
Norma Kimball Salway, retired teacher, parent, grandparent loves to write and craft. During 34 years in education, she taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade in Bethel, Maine, primarily at Crescent Park School, where she also was a student in her elementary years. During her teaching career, she often wrote poems and songs to reinforce areas of learning. As a participant of the Bread Loaf in the Schools Writing program, she worked to increase and improve student writing in her classroom. The author has spent most of her adult life in the family home overlooking Songo Pond, in Albany Township, near Bethel in the western mountains of Maine. She lives with her Sheltie, Stormy and Maine Coon cat, Gusty. Her hobbies include writing, kayaking, gardening, antiquing, and crafting with her grandchildren. Recently Salway has created her own line of bookmarks and greeting cards using potato prints on handcrafted paper and fabric.
