Teachers and parents will enjoy "sitting in the classroom with Norma Salway." Salway tells tales from school-familiar to most veteran teachers. New teachers will enjoy and learn from the stories, parents will gain an understanding of their children's school experience and others will sense and appreciate the school atmosphere in the 21st century. Salway brings her three decades of teaching to her stories.

About the Author
Norma Kimball Salway, parent, grandparent, graduate of the University of Southern Maine, retired from teaching in 2009. During her 34 years in education, she taught four- to seven-year-old students. Her hobbies include writing, kayaking, gardening, antiquing, and crafting. Since retirement, Salway has written five books. The first, The Spirit of Songo, is a collection of original poems and vintage photos about the lake near her Albany home. The second, Touched by a Hummingbird, written and illustrated by Salway, tells the true story of rescuing a hummingbird prior to her friend's funeral. This book comforts those grieving a loss. The third, I'm Just a Kid You Know, stories of the lessons that a teacher learned from her students. In her fourth book, The Attic & ME, Salway shares her passion for attics and anything old including collecting family artifacts. My Maine School Bus Driver, a children's picture book, is underway. Salway continues to write, living in Portland, Maine, with her Maine Coon cat, Gusty.

What our Customers say

Nancy E. Randolph, JWB owner, markets my titles on a wide scale. She also sets up book signings. I find it infinitely more enjoyable and rewarding to work with this Maine-based publisher than to deal with national publishers from out-of-state.
Finally, JWB does not publish just any aspiring author. Randolph is very selective, accepting only material that she is convinced will sell. I highly recommend JWB to any author.
Tom Seymour, author of Wild Plants of Maine and many other titles.
