Denise R. Larson specilizes in history and genealogy – one family’s story, a town’s history, or the patchwork tale of our vibrant American culture.
During the past dozen years, Denise has served as manager of a county history and genealogy research center and as an editor for a daily newspaper. Her work towards a degree in cultural studies and writing led her to author Companions of Champlain, Founding Families of Quebec, 1608-1635, a primer on French-Canadian – “francadian” – heritage and a how-to on French-Canadian-American genealogical research. She can help writers streamline the process of telling the story that lies behind and beyond pedigree charts and official documents and help bring out the ways that history in general relates to a specific family or locality.
Just as a family’s history contains stories that should be taken with a grain of salt, Denise also has a special interest in folklore, legends and light novels and looks forward to helping writers express their imagination in tightly woven, well-paced prose for both children and adults.
