Find Maine poetry
Maine is the perfect place for poetry. Everyone has their own perfect image of Maine and it still is a place where many poets wander and write while engaged with their image of how life should be. Fortunately I have engaged three very different and proficient poets writing in this state. Topping off this list are: Robert Chute, Marge Finch and Russell Buker.

But
Finally got up the courage
to do
what I should have done
years ago
Looked both ways as
I
raced back from such
solitude
Robert Chute is finalizing Excuse for Being Here. Excuse is part memoir and part poetry but all about Robert’s connection with Henry David Thoreau.
Sic Vita
I am a bundle of vain strivings tied
By a chance bond together
Dangling this way and that, their links
We made so loose and wide,
Methinks,
For milder weather.
(Don’t throw bouquets at me
people will say we’re in love…)

Projects in the works
We always have several great projects in the works! Here is a sampling.
Food Fix: Ancient Nourishment for Modern Hungers by Susan Lebel Young, may be the most far-reaching project that we have tackled here at Just Write Books. We published Young's first book, Lessons from a Golfer. Now Food Fix answers the questions: How do I stop being a junk food junkie? How do I control my food eating habits when I feel out of control? How do I feel at peace with food. Young, a retired pyschotherapist, a yoga and meditation/mindfulness teacher understands because for several decades she has found a way to control what she calls food frenzy. The book is scheduled for release March 13, 2013.
You can buy the book at your local bookstore or on our online bookstore. Check out Young's author events on our calendar: JWB Event Page.
